Durham Regional Police Service is investigating after two teens were shot and suffered serious injuries in Oshawa Monday morning.

Emergency services got the call around 12:20 in the morning on Monday, April 5, 2021. Police along with paramedics responded to a double shooting behind the Glen Street Public School in Oshawa. Police located a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male with serious injuries from shots being fired. The victims were transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Information received as part of the investigation, indicates there was an altercation between the victims and two other males on the basketball court which resulted in the two teens being shot. Investigators don’t believe this was a random act.

Durham Regional Police are looking for a suspect who fled from the scene. There are no descriptors at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
