A 25-year-old male was arrested for breaking into a home in Oshawa on Thursday morning.

Durham Regional Police say they responded to a break and enter call on Grandview Street North in Oshawa on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at approximately 6:00 a.m. A suspect kicked in the front door of a residence attempting to gain entry, fired several blank shots, and fled before police arrived. Police located an imitation handgun and shell casings near the home. Police searched the area and a suspect was located nearby.

Race WATSON, age 25 of Woodstream Avenue in Oshawa, faces several charges, including Mischief Under $5,000; Possess Weapons Dangerous to the Public; Possess Prohibited Firearm No Licence; Possess Prohibited Weapon Knowing Possession is Unauthorized; Fail to Comply probation x2 and Attempt Break and Enter to a Dwelling.

He was held for a bail hearing.
