A suspect was arrested after one male was stabbed and another male wounded in a domestic-related incident Tuesday night in Ajax.
On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Durham Regional Police Service along with Region of Durham Paramedic Services responded to a residence in the area of Delaney Drive and Westney Road North in Ajax for a stabbing. Police found a 57-year-old male victim with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre by paramedics after they gave life-saving medical treatment on the scene where he remains in critical condition. A second 24-year-old male victim sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury after being wounded and was taken to a local hospital. He has since been released.
The suspect, who is the 57-year-old victim’s son and brother of the 24-year-old victim, was arrested and is facing numerous charges.
A 28-year-old male from Ajax is charged with Aggravated Assault; Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon; Assault and Possess Weapon for Committing an Offence.
He was held for a bail hearing.
