The Remembrance Day Poppy drive got a little extra help this year from a resident from Oshawa, Kathleen Schwartz. She started her fundraising for the Legion by selling her crochet Poppies, that were available at the Legion branch 43 at 471 Simcoe St S, Oshawa.

Mrs. Schwartz this year because of COVID19, she started making custom face masks. A mask (select colors) with a poppy and wording ” Lest we Forget” that she sold for $15. As always, time and the material were donated and 100% of the proceeds with be donated to the Legion in memory of her uncle Ronald William (Jim) McTague Oct 1, 1937 – Apr 24, 2016.

Today Mrs. Schwartz presented branch 43 in Oshawa a check for the amount of $6336.16 to Karen Jarvis, Poppy Chair of Branch 43, making her poppy donation the biggest one yet.
