Durham Regional Police are looking to identify a male suspect after two cyclists and a person walking were injured in the area of of the waterfront trail at the end of Thickson Road South in Whitby

It happened Sunday, September 6, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m when the suspect was yelling at the cyclists as they passed him and he used a camera tripod to cause the cyclists to collide and fall off their bikes. Two people were also hit by the bikes causing minor injuries to one of the pedestrians. The female cyclists suffered minor injuries and one of them was taken by Region of Durham Paramedic Services to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and is described as male, white, 50-60 years old, 5’10” tall, about 150 lbs. He wore black shorts, and a black and white leaf-patterned short-sleeve button-up shirt. He was wearing a black hat on backward and black sunglasses.

Investigators are looking for the public’s help to identify this male.
