Durham Regional Police officers and members from the Public Safety Unit were in the area searching for evidence after shots were fired into a home in the Coldstream Drive and Ritson Road North area early this morning. Members of the Public Safety Unit will be searching nearby parks and streets for evidence for most of the day in this area.

Police confirmed today that at 1:20 am multiple shots were fired after finding damage to a home and one of the bullets narrowly struck an occupant of the home with the bullet traveling through the bed’s headboard and lodged in the wall. Police also said that there is evidence of damage to a second home close by.

There were no injuries and the police have not released the street name where the homes are as the investigation continues

There are no suspect descriptors at this time, but a dark small vehicle which was seen in the area during the time of the incident.
