On Saturday, April 4, 2020, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Durham Regional Police and Region of Durham Paramedic Services responded to the area of Memorial Park on Simcoe Street in Oshawa for a stabbing. The suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with a 16-year-old male when it resulted in the teen being stabbed several times. The teen was transported by paramedics to a Toronto-area trauma center with serious injuries.

Micheal NOVAK, age 45, of Arthur Street in Oshawa, is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
