On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Durham Regional Police were called to the area of Dance Act Avenue and Bromus Path in Oshawa regarding a violent street-level robbery.

The male teen from Oshawa advised police he arranged to meet with one of the males for a drug transaction, and when they walked off of the roadway to complete the purchase, a second unknown suspect wearing a mask and brandishing a gun assaulted the victim, stealing his property. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. Durham Regional Police K9 Unit and other officers did search the area right after the assault took place, but the suspects had fled

Investigators were able to identify a 17-year-old suspect who was arrested on February 18, 2020, and is now facing numerous charges. Police are still looking for the second suspect.

A 17-year-old male from Oshawa faces ten criminal charges, including Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine); Forcible Confinement; Weapons Dangerous; Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.

The second suspect is described as male, black, 5’10” to 6’ tall, thin build. He was wearing a mask and was armed with a gun.
