With the assistance of the K-9 Unit, police arrested a suspect after he fled from a stolen vehicle in Oshawa overnight.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., on Monday, August 12, 2019, officers with the Durham Regional Police Central East Division located a stolen white Chevrolet Express van near King Street and Farewell Street in Oshawa. The suspect ran from the stolen van when he saw police. The suspect ran into a heavily wooded area. K-9 Rogue attended with his handler and located the male in a short time. The male was taken into custody. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. He was held for a bail hearing.

Hoang TRAN, age 34, of No Fixed Address is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2.
