Homicide investigators have identified Durham Region’s fifth homicide victim of 2019 as Yvonne MOONEY, age 83, of Oshawa.

 

Investigators have charged Timothy MOONEY, age 56, of Nonquon Road in Oshawa is charged with Second Degree Murder. He was held for a bail hearing. He is the son of the deceased and lived in the same apartment.

On Sunday, May 12, 2019, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Emergency services responded to an apartment fire on Nonquon Road in Oshawa. Oshawa Fire Services quickly extinguished the fire and found an elderly female inside with injuries. The 83-year-old female was taken to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A 56-year-old male was arrested a short time later in connection with the death of the 84-year-old female no suspect name was released by police yet.
